Pinot Noir Wines

Pinot Noir Wines

Pinot Noir is the most finicky, demanding, and ultimately rewarding grape variety we work with. It's notoriously difficult to grow and vinify, requiring just the right climate, soil, and winemaking touch to reveal its magic. Our collection of Pinot Noir wines showcases this beautiful variety from multiple continents, including something we're particularly proud of - exceptional English Pinot Noir from producers like Sharpham and Furleigh Estate. What draws us to Pinot Noir is its transparency, the way it speaks of place more clearly than almost any other variety. From the elegant, earthy expressions of France's Loire Valley to the silky, fruit-forward styles of Australia and the surprising quality emerging from English vineyards, this collection represents our passion for wines that offer complexity without heaviness, elegance without austerity.

Why Our Pinot Noir Wine Collection Stands Out

What makes our Pinot Noir wine range genuinely special is the inclusion of English producers alongside established international names. The Sharpham Pinot Noir from Devon is a revelation - proving that England's cool climate can produce serious red wines, not just sparkling. The Ad Hoc Cruel Mistress from Australia showcases a completely different expression, with riper fruit and more body, whilst maintaining the variety's characteristic silky texture. And the Hubert Brochard Sancerre Rouge offers that classic Loire Valley combination of red berry fruit, earthiness, and refreshing acidity that makes it so food-friendly. We've personally tasted every bottle, often visiting the vineyards themselves, because understanding the story behind each red Pinot Noir wine helps us share them with genuine enthusiasm.

We're particularly excited about our English Pinot Noir selection. As climate patterns shift, English winemakers are producing increasingly impressive red wines that deserve serious attention. These aren't curiosities - they're genuinely delicious wines that hold their own against international competition.

Exploring the Range of Red Wine Noir Styles

The diversity within our collection reflects Pinot Noir's chameleon-like ability to express terroir. Cool-climate expressions like the Sancerre Rouge offer lighter body, bright acidity, and savoury complexity - think red cherries, forest floor, and subtle spice. Australian Pinot Noir wines tend toward riper fruit and more weight whilst maintaining elegance. English Pinot Noir sits somewhere in between, with pure fruit expression and vibrant freshness. We've also included Pinot Noir rosés from producers like Lyme Bay and Furleigh Estate, which capture the grape's delicate fruit character in a lighter, more refreshing style perfect for warmer weather.

Characteristics you'll find across our wine Pinot collection include:

• Red berry fruit - strawberries, raspberries, and cherries dominate the flavour profile
• Silky, refined tannins that coat the palate rather than grip it
• Earthy, savoury notes - mushrooms, forest floor, dried herbs, adding complexity
• Natural acidity that keeps everything fresh and makes these wines brilliantly food-friendly

Food Pairing With These Pinot Noir Red Wines

We adore how versatile Pinot Noir red wines are at the table. The lighter body and bright acidity make them perfect with dishes that would overwhelm heavier reds. Roasted chicken or duck is a classic pairing - the wine's fruit complements the richness without competing. Salmon or tuna work beautifully, particularly with the more delicate expressions. Mushroom dishes are sublime with earthier styles like the Sancerre Rouge. And for vegetarian fare, Pinot Noir is often the best red wine choice, pairing wonderfully with dishes featuring beetroot, lentils, or roasted vegetables.

Quality and Passion in Every Bottle

Every wine in this collection has been carefully selected through our rigorous tasting process. Pinot Noir demands respect - it can't hide flaws behind power or oak, which means the wines we've chosen genuinely represent quality winemaking. Whether you're exploring English wine for the first time or seeking classic expressions from established regions, we're confident you'll find something here that captivates you. Explore our collection and discover why Pinot Noir remains the grape of choice for wine lovers who value elegance and finesse above power.
