De Loach California Collection Pinot Noir 2024

The wine opens with expressive aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, accented by delicate notes of rose petal and subtle baking spice. On the palate, vibrant red berry flavours intertwine with cranberry and pomegranate, supported by soft tannins and bright acidity. A hint of vanilla adds depth and complexity, while the silky texture extends gracefully into a long, elegant finish.

The grapes were de-stemmed and cold-soaked for four days to enhance colour extraction and preserve aromatic purity. This was followed by two weeks of maceration prior to fermentation, allowing for greater depth and complexity. This careful approach produced softer tannins and layered flavours, resulting in a balanced and expressive wine.

The 2024 vintage was defined by a wet winter and spring, which replenished soil moisture ahead of a hot, dry summer marked by sustained above-average temperatures. These conditions accelerated ripening and increased vine stress, leading to smaller berries and lighter yields. Despite reduced volume, the concentrated fruit produced wines of exceptional depth, showcasing intense colour, rich flavour, and firm tannin structure. Careful canopy management, precise irrigation, and well-timed harvests were key to maintaining balance and preserving natural acidity throughout the vintage.
