TASTING NOTES
The Julia Florista Red from Vidigal is made from a blend of Portuguese Grape varieties. Crushed with full destemming the grapes are fermented in stainless steel for a fresh & vibrant flavour.
Inspiration for the wine comes from Júlia Florista (1883-1925): Flower seller during the day, Fado singer at night. A true bohemian soul known in the old streets of Lisbon and taverns alike for her breath-taking fado singing. Her life and death had all the ingredients of a fado song... (Although short lived she left us 2 precious vinyl records named: "Espirito Fado"). The wine is dedicated to her memory.
The Vidigal Julia Florista Red is bright ruby, aged colour with pale gold and tawny tones. Fruit aroma, vegetal hints. Medium body with elegant spices and delicate finale. Pair with grilled red meats, light seasoned dishes and a good piece of cheddar or Lancashire cheese.
