Each variety was harvested separately at varying stages. 20% of the Grenache and Cinsault was whole bunch pressed. The Petite Sirah and Syrah was crushed and destemmed. Each batch was fermented separately in open top fermenters with wild/natural yeast. Post fermentation maceration occurred before the wine was pressed and transferred to 225 and 300 L French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. The wine spent 7 months in barrel before blending and bottling.
Enticing ruby colour with a perfumed nose reminiscent of an early morning walk in a dewy lavender field. This is followed by bright, ripe summer berries, subtle exotic spice and undertones of salted liquorice.
On the palate the fresh fruit flavours sing and mingle with perfectly judged oak (225 and 300l oak barrels for 7 months). Opulent and sumptuous, yet very light on its feet, very moreish with an energetic cranberry crunch on the long farewell. A fine wine, packed with flavour and oh so drinkable!
