Australian Wines

Australia consistently produces wines that deliver both power and drinkability in equal measure. Givino's Australian wines collection focuses on producers who understand their regions and work with varieties that thrive in Australian conditions. Our selection includes established names like Corryton Burge and Robert Oatley alongside newer operations like The Earth Beneath Our Feet and Ad Hoc. These wines from Australia represent different approaches to Australian winemaking, from traditional Barossa Shiraz to cool-climate expressions from Adelaide Hills and beyond.

Australian Shiraz and Red Wine Selection

Shiraz remains Australia's signature variety, and our Australian Shiraz wine collection shows why. The Heilan Coo Shiraz-Mataro 2023 blends traditional Barossa power with Mataro's spicy complexity, creating a wine with serious structure. Dandelion Vineyards Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 2022 represents old-vine intensity, while Robert Oatley Helmsman Shiraz 2021 offers more approachable fruit-forward drinking. Brothers at War The Old Man Shiraz 2022 brings a different perspective to the variety, focusing on elegance rather than pure power. These wines of Australia demonstrate Shiraz's versatility across different sites and winemaking philosophies.

Corryton Burge Range

Corryton Burge contributes significantly to our Australian wine collection with wines from Adelaide Hills and other South Australian regions. Their Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 shows restraint uncommon in Australian Cabernet, with structured tannins and genuine aging potential. The Brigadier Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 represents their premium expression, demonstrating what happens when you combine quality fruit with careful winemaking. Corryton Burge Adelaide Hills The Patroness Chardonnay 2022 exemplifies cool-climate Australian chardonnay wine, offering mineral precision without excessive oak influence.

Cool Climate Australian Wine Expressions

Not all wine from Australia comes from hot regions. Ad Hoc Cruel Mistress Pinot Noir 2023 demonstrates Australia's capacity for elegant cool-climate reds, offering Pinot Noir with proper structure and complexity. Their Hen & Chicken Chardonnay 2022 represents the white wine Australia approach to Chardonnay, balancing fruit concentration with acid freshness. Payten & Jones Valley Vignerons Pinot Noir 2022 shows another perspective on cool-climate Australian reds, focusing on varietal expression rather than regional power.

Distinctive Australian Wine Styles

David Traeger Three Centuries Shiraz 2016 represents aged Australian Shiraz at its best, showing how these wines develop complexity over time. Campbells Bobbie Burns Shiraz 2021 offers a different regional expression, while 3 Bridges Gold Mist Botrytis Semillon NV demonstrates Australia's capacity for dessert wine production. These Australian wine brands create wines that reflect their specific sites while maintaining the fruit-forward character that defines quality Australian wine.
