Barão de Vilar Reserve Red 2023

Deep red colour. On the nose, velvety black fruit aromas stand out. On the palate, these same fruits shine through, in perfect harmony with oak notes and silky tannins. The profile is full of character, finishing long and elegant.

A tribute to the Douro Superior — from the sub-regions of Cima Corgo, Baixo Corgo and the Foz Côa Valley. It is in this terroir that Barão de Vilar combines the winemaking tradition of Port wine with the ageing potential of still wines. The result is unique wines that faithfully reflect the excellence of the Douro.

The grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked at their peak ripeness. After harvest, they are transported to the winery and cooled in a cold chamber. Fermentation begins after three days of skin maceration in stainless steel vats at 25 °C.
Part of the blend is then aged in used barrels, resulting in a wine full of character and with hints of spiced fruit.
