Domaine de Cantagrils Languedoc Picpoul De Pinet 2021

A pale yellow colour with lively citrus aromas and a hint of orchard fruits such as apple and pear, and a touch of fennel. It’s dry, crisp and refreshing on the palate, with moderate alcohol and mouthwatering acidity that is so typical of the Picpoul grape. Wines from this grape are usually not oaked, so the character of this wine is fruity and fresh, great for summer drinking rather than cellaring. 13% ABV

Domaine de Cantagrils were among the first to plant and cultivate the Picpoul grape in 1983, just southwest of Marseilles. When vineyards around them gained official certification as AOC Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet in 1985, the estate began making their own wine as well as growing/selling the grapes. Picpoul is also known as Piquepoul, the name means ‘lip-stinger’ due to its high natural acidity!
