TASTING NOTES
Fermentation of the verdelho grapes off the skins takes about four days. And therefore the madeira wine is sweeter than the sercial. With an average age of about 10 years in cask the wine becomes very concentrated and develops spicy and dried fruit characters, with warm marmalade flavours.
The Blandy's verdelho 10 year old madeira has a delightful, resinous bouquet with touches of mahogany bureau and hazelnut. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry, with vibrant acidity. The finish has a subtle smokey note lingering after the wine has departed.
